Current programme
Two remarkable choral works.
We are preparing a vivid, contrasting programme for a concert in late November. Date to be confirmed.
African Sanctus David Fanshawe
David Fanshawe’s exhilarating thirteen-movement work sets the Latin Mass alongside traditional music he recorded in Egypt, Sudan, Uganda and Kenya. Choir, soprano, piano and percussion meet the energy of the original field recordings in a vivid celebration of cultural connection.

A Ceremony of Carols Benjamin Britten
Composed in 1942 for high voices and harp, Britten’s much-loved carol sequence combines medieval English texts with dancing rhythms, luminous melodies and an atmospheric harp interlude. Its opening plainsong returns at the close, framing the work with a sense of ceremony and stillness.
